The Happy Horse Medicated 2% Chlorohexidine Gluconate Shampoo is for skin conditions caused by microorganisms and bacteria. The Chlorhexidine Gluconate works to help promote a healthy skin and coat while special conditioners clean and deodorize. The Happy Horse Chlorhexidine shampoo is effective, yet mild and may be used for routine shampooing on all horses, foals, dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. The soap has directions for use: wet coat thoroughly with warm water; add shampoo to a bucket of water (2 to 4 oz. per gal. of water); apply shampoo solution with a sponge or soft brush and massage until lather appears. You should allow shampoo to absorb for 5 to 10 minutes then rinse thoroughly. This horse grooming solution is for more severe areas. You can apply undiluted shampoo directly to problem areas and allow to soak for 10 minutes before rinsing. for best results, repeat procedure weekly until symptoms subside. If irritation develops, discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.
